Caring for Your Mount

A properly cared-for mount will last a lifetime. Follow these simple guidelines to protect your investment.

Avoid Direct Sunlight

UV exposure causes fading and dries out the hide. Hang mounts away from windows or use UV-filtering glass.

Control Humidity

Extreme humidity fluctuations can cause cracking or warping. Maintain indoor humidity between 40–60%.

Dust Regularly

Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust. Never use household cleaners or water on the hide.

Keep Away from Heat Sources

Fireplaces, heating vents, and wood stoves dry out the skin. Maintain at least 3 feet of clearance.

Inspect Annually

Check for signs of pest activity (moths, dermestid beetles) once a year. Contact us immediately if you notice any damage.
